Book Review: The Instant Pot® College Cookbook: 75 Quick and Easy Meals that Taste Like Home by Julee Morrison

The Instant Pot® College Cookbook: 75 Quick and Easy Meals that Taste Like Home by Julee Morrison

Life in my (David) dorm room was unusual. I actually cooked in my room, whereas most students ate in the dining halls, ordered pizza, or lived on Pop Tarts. One freshman I knew actually ate horse food because he thought it would help him gain muscle tone.

I wish I had an Instant Pot back then. The Instant Pot® College Cookbook: 75 Quick and Easy Meals that Taste Like Home by Julee Morrison is a step-by-step guide on how to use the Instant Pot to make some very tasty and good for you meals that college students will love.

Actually, any person cooking for a small number of people will find this book to be very useful. There are even instructions on how to make a Thanksgiving meal in the Instant Pot.

This book even tells you how to make broccoli cheese soup from scratch. You won’t have to settle for Ramen noodles every night or Pop Tarts 3 meals a day; using the Instant Pot is simple and easy. The pot does all the work.

This book is well written and well thought out. It is simple and easy to follow. Shoot, even a freshman can eat like a king by following the instructions and recipes in The Instant Pot College Cookbook.

You could go scream into the clown’s head and get some robot food, or you could pick up your copy of Best of Bridge Weekday Suppers: All-New Easy Everyday Recipes by Emily Richards and Sylvia Kong and you are ready to go.

You probably have everything you need to fix most of these recipes. There are even recipes for dessert in here.

These recipes are easy to follow. Well, not really. The problem will be when the recipe says to cook the bacon and set it aside. What cook is going to allow bacon to just sit there without eating it?

The spiral binding on this book makes it easy to follow the recipes because it doesn’t change the page while your back is turned. Who hasn’t had the page turn on them while they are making a recipe? This makes for some interesting meals.

Book Review: The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Slow Cooker Cookbook: Prep-and-Go Recipes for Long-Term Healing by Madeline Given NC

The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Slow Cooker Cookbook: Prep-and-Go Recipes for Long-Term Healing by Madeline Given NC

We looked over The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Slow Cooker Cookbook: Prep-and-Go Recipes for Long-Term Healing by Madeline Given NC and found it to be easy to follow and well-written.

The beginning of the book explains a lot about anti-inflammatory eating and what should make up a good part of our diet.

We live in a fast-paced world where everyone eats fast on-the-go.  The book will help with that. Instead of grabbing a quick burger from the local fast food drive thru, we can have a hot, delicious, healthy meal.

Prep time is kept to a minimum and most of the cooking takes place slowly while we are doing other things. If you don’t have enough time to fix the recipes in this book, you don’t have enough time to go tell a clown head what you want to eat, either.

We think you will really like The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Slow Cooker Cookbook.  It will make a great present for any would be cook on your list.
