300 Best Potato Recipes: A Complete Cook’s Guide by Kathleen Sloan-McIntosh

Our family is mostly Irish. Therefore, we love anything to do with a potato. This is why 300 Best Potato Recipes: A Complete Cook’s Guide by Kathleen Sloan-McIntosh was such a great book for us.

Not only are there all kinds of easy to follow recipes in this book, there are also a lot of “fun facts” about the potato. There is sort or a Ripley’s Believe It Or Else” section in the front of the book where readers are treated to some little known facts about the potato.

These recipes are easy to follow with a good bit of detail for each recipe. It makes following the steps so easy even a husband could follow them.

We think you will love 300 Best Potato Recipes like we do. We give it all five stars and a slab of bacon.

Book Review: The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Slow Cooker Cookbook: Prep-and-Go Recipes for Long-Term Healing by Madeline Given NC

The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Slow Cooker Cookbook: Prep-and-Go Recipes for Long-Term Healing by Madeline Given NC

We looked over The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Slow Cooker Cookbook: Prep-and-Go Recipes for Long-Term Healing by Madeline Given NC and found it to be easy to follow and well-written.

The beginning of the book explains a lot about anti-inflammatory eating and what should make up a good part of our diet.

We live in a fast-paced world where everyone eats fast on-the-go.  The book will help with that. Instead of grabbing a quick burger from the local fast food drive thru, we can have a hot, delicious, healthy meal.

Prep time is kept to a minimum and most of the cooking takes place slowly while we are doing other things. If you don’t have enough time to fix the recipes in this book, you don’t have enough time to go tell a clown head what you want to eat, either.

We think you will really like The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Slow Cooker Cookbook.  It will make a great present for any would be cook on your list.

Book Review: Tex-Mex Diabetes Cooking: More Than 140 Authentic Southwestern Favorites by Kelley Cleary Coffeen

Tex-Mex Diabetes Cooking: More Than 140 Authentic Southwestern Favorites
by Kelley Cleary Coffeen

I, David, have been a diabetic since July of 1976.  This condition – it is not a disease – has been with me a long time.  That is why it is always good to find a good cookbook that helps deal with reducing sugar and fat intake.

Although we differ with the ADA on the use of alcohol, as reported by the author, we think this is a wonderful cookbook. We feel it is best to stay away from alcohol completely because it can drastically lower blood sugar levels.

The instructions are easy to follow and clear.  Readers are told, in an easy to understand way, how to prepare each recipe.

We feel that Tex-Mex Diabetes Cooking is a great resource for diabetics.  We give it all five stars.
