Welcome to From the Kitchen of McClendon Villa!
The mission of From the Kitchen of McClendon Villa is to help remove “I can’t!” from the vocabulary of new and inexperienced cooks.
We seek to offer easy recipes, ideally frugal in nature, to help encourage self-confidence in the kitchen.
In addition to recipes, we will share tips and techniques, along with book and product reviews, to help you get to a point of “Yes, I can do it!”
Here is our first recipe video. It is from an old family recipe that I call “Aunt Charlotte’s Peanut Butter Cookies”.
Aunt Charlotte’s Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Mix all ingredients together until well blended.
Roll rounded tablespoonfuls of dough into balls and place on greased or sprayed cookie sheet.
Using a fork, press a criss-cross pattern into the dough balls.
Cook for 12-14 minutes, just until the edges start to brown.
Remove from oven and cool on cookie sheet for at least one minute before removing to a cooling rack.
